Winter is here

We have been learning how to write a poem we have included adjectives,repetition,metaphors/similes,and personification.

Winter is here

Her eyes icy blue,a smile of shiny ruby leaps at her lips.

Her hair is as white as a snowflake and her dress covers the frozen rivers.

Winter is here

Trees are lonely and upset they feel left out without their colourful leaves.

Plants bend and say their farewell to the cold snowy world.

The air sits in the snow.

Winter is here

Hedgehogs race to their hidden hideout and eat the food they collected.

Hedgehogs find a comfy space and pass out.The birds sit on the wet freezing grass.

Winter is here

On a wet slippery foggy morning the smell of dead plants drifts around the forest.

The smell of soup hovers to my nose

.The smell of smoke from a burning fire filled up the air.

I hope you liked my winter poem and  I have a question

would you want to write a poem and if you do what would you write?

Pink Shirt Day!

What is pink shirt day? pink shirt day is when we stand up to bullying.

How can we stop bullying? We can stop bullying by being an up stander and not a by stander. We can also stop bullying by helping people when they need help and tell a teacher.

Whats the diffidence between bullying and being mean? Bullying is when someone is doing something to you that is mean everyday for weeks and weeks. When someone is being mean they sometimes are mean to you but not everyday.

my family story

We have been learning about the first people coming to Aotearoa New Zealand.

For PBL our driving questions are:

How do our family stories compare to the story of Kupe? and  What is important about our origin stories?

So we have been finding out some information about our own families coming here. I have made a recording about my father coming to New Zealand.

My name is Telesia I live in Christchurch but not all of my family was born here. my dad and great grandma were born in Samoa my dad went on a plane to Auckland where my mum was born. my great grandma also came to Auckland.

It was interesting to learn about my great grandma.

What is your family story?
